Vijayawada: Brahmin Aikya Vedika president K Balaram on Saturday said various Brahmin organisations will meet at 11 am on May 21 at Gayatri Convention hall near Seetannapeta gate to discuss the problems being faced by the Brahmin community in the State.

Addressing a media conference at the Gayatri Convention hall, he said the Telugu Desam government has been harassing Brahmins and trying to create rift among the Brahmins particularly among the priests.  He found fault with the TDP government for sacking chief priest of TTD Ramana Deekshitulu without any valid reason. He demanded that the TDP government must withdraw the decision on sacking Deekshitulu.

He said that priesthood is hereditary for a long time in our country and it should be continued in the TTD also. The Ikyavedika president said a meeting has been convened at Gayatri convention hall on May 21 to discuss the problems being faced by the Brahmins and appealed to the Brahmin organisations to participate in the meeting.
