Chinta flays Governor’s role
Tirupati: Former MP Chinta Mohan alleged that the BJP government at the Centre has been using the Governors for their political needs by making them puppets. He led a protest against the developments in Karnataka where the Governor has invited BJP’s floor leader BS Yeddurappa to form the government though Congress-JDS alliance has full majority.
The Governor acted as a political leader and his decision was unconstitutional, he criticised. Saying that it was common to form alliances before or after elections, he cited the cases of Goa, Manipur, Meghalaya where though Congress got more seats, Governors have invited BJP to form governments.
He demanded to use ballot papers in all the elections in future as educationists, people’s organisations and political parties have been expressing doubts over EVMs. Congress leaders Venugopal Reddy, Polakala Mallikarjun, Rambhupal Reddy, Nainar Sreenivasulu, Prameelamma, Savithramma and others have participated in the protest.
