“We have requested the government to fill the vacant posts and waiting for the orders,” she stated. According to sources, 84 posts in various departments in the civic body are yet to filled. The government did not give nod in the last four years to fill vacant posts despite the municipal council has been sending requests.

It is learnt that officials from other places are not willing to work for the CMC on deputation due to political pressures. It has become difficult for the existing staff to supervise developmental works like beautification of Kattamanchi tank, construction of buildings to shopping complex and vegetable market, extension of roads and erection of traffic signals and construction of statues island. Tulasi Ram, who is working as in-charge manager at CMC said that the existing staff have been overburdened to supervise the works.
