Tributes paid to Sundaraiah
Tirupati: “The life of veteran Marxist Communist leader Puchalapalli Sundaraiah is an eternal source of inspiration and we require many more such selfless leaders now to cleanse our present-day politics which turned into a big business hitting hard the poor and the working class,” said CITU district general secretary K Murali.
He was speaking at a commemorative meeting held to observe the 23rd death anniversary of Sundaraiah in the district CITU office here on Saturday. Speaking after paying floral tributes to Sundaraiah portrait, Murali said Karnataka politics is a perfect example to show how the politics in our country turned into a big business and expressed concern over the domination of rich in the legislatures and degradation of values in politics.
Sundaraiah though from a rich and affluent land lord family chose to lead a simple life and struggled for the welfare of the poor, depressed and oppressed classes, he observed. CITU district treasurer G Balasubramanayam recalled his association with the late leader and also his contribution for building Communist party and many public movements in Chittoor district. TTD Employees Association leader G Venkatesam, CITU leaders Muniraja, Narayana Babu and others also spoke.
