Yanamala lambasts BJP for violating democratic norms

Amaravati: Lambasting on BJP for forming the government even without having majority in Karnataka Assembly, the TDP leader and Minister for Finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that the Supreme Court corrected the mistake done by the Governor to  some extent.

In a press release issued on Friday, the Finance Minister welcomed Supreme Court’s direction on proving majority in the Lower House by BJP by Saturday evening. BJP should not suppose to violate Constitution again and again, he said.

He blamed that Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala behaved like an RSS agent and implementing BJP’s directives in the state, by misusing his discretionary powers.

Ramakrishnudu further added that Governor was performing his duties against  the spirit of Constitution and in an undemocratic way. “By inviting the BJP to prove majority, which did not get real majority, Governor was responsible for horse trading in Karnataka,’’ the minister pointed out.

If the argument of BJP is valid that Governor invited single largest party in the hung Assembly to prove strength, then they might have invited Congress to form government in Goa, Meghalaya, Manipur and other states, he said. But at that time, the Governors of respective states invited BJP to form government instead of Congress.
