Finger Identification Network System app helping in crimes prevention

Tirupati: ``Finger Identification Network System (FINS) has been working effectively in nabbing the old offenders or habitual criminals  before the crime occurs”.  Tirupati Urban Police are implementing the  FINS app through mobile tabs and finger print scanners effectively  for the  last two years in the jurisdiction of Urban Police district.

It may be noted that Urban Police, for the  first time, used  FINS software during Tirumala Brahmotsavam in 2016.  Every year many thefts and chain snatchings incidents occur during the Brahmotsavams. 

For prevention of those thefts and chain snatchings, former SP Jayalakshmi had introduced using of FINS app via tabs by the patrolling vehicle police personnel and blue colt constables. As part of this special project, 45 FINS machine (thumb scanner) and tabs were handed over to the field police personnel who have been on patrolling duties day and night. 

Presently higher officials   are provided the FINS machines   police men and women rakshak patrolling parties and as well as blue colt constablesin  Srikalahasti, Tirupati and Tirumala towns.

It is learnt that FINS app is very useful to detect the old offenders  through their finger prints.  For this purpose, police tabs were connected with police crime bureau records to tally the old finger prints and profiles via online.  This FINS app is working on SIM based wireless technology.   

When a person put his thumb on mini scanner, automatically  FINS will show the details of the old offender if he has any previous  crime record.  Police have been using this app subsequently in many religious festivals like Tirumala, Tiruchanuru, SrikalahastiBrahmotsavamsand also in Tirupati and Sirkalahasti Ganga Jathara.

So far through FINS app, Tirupati Urban Police have arrested more than 352 old offenders and successfully prevented  occurrence of crimes. Over the implementation of FINS app, The Tirupati Urban Police District SP AbhiShekMohanty  saidto The Hans India that  in prevention of crimes, FINS machines are useful to the field level police personnel, In future, we will enhance the FINS equipment number.  

Almost all repeated crimes have come down in the Tirupati Urban District limits, FINS app is user friendly and police can carry the equipment anywhere, added the Urban SP Mohanty.
