Man held for bid to marry 4th time

Nellore: Police took a person into custody on Monday in Buchireddypalem as he tried to marry for the fourth time. His third wife staged a protest in front of the house. The accused is identified as K Venkata Varaprasad Reddy.

According to reports, K Venkata Varaprasad Reddy from Autonagarin Buchireddypalem got married to Radha of Vijayawada two years ago.``We received the marriage proposal through a mediator in the district.

At the time of proposal, Prasad Reddy said that he was working as a Software Engineer in Bengaluru. Our parents had given Rs.11 lakh cash as dowry and also some gold ornaments to their family members. After marriage, he was not attending for duties,” said Radha.

She complained that his mother and father also started harassing her for additional dowry for the last six months. She also said that Prasad Reddy has been trying to marry for the fourth time. She accused that Prasad Reddy’s father also had tried to assault her several times in the house.

On Monday, Radha lodged a complaint with the Buchireddypalem Police seeking justice. She staged protest in front of Prasad Reddy’s house. Police reached to the house and took Prasad Reddy into custody. Radha and her parents demanded that action be taken  against the accused and his family members.
