Fake vigilance DSP, his associate arrested
Kurmool: The Alur police arrested an imposter and his driver on Tuesday at Alur and presented him before media in the presence of Adoni Sub Division Police Officer, Ankaveedu Prasad.
At the press meet, the DSP Ankaveedu Prasad gave details about the accused. According to him, the accused Kadirakunta Santha Raj, posing himself as Vigilance department DSP, has threatened the Alur Sub Registrar and demanded an amount of Rs.1 lakh.
However, the sub registrar gave him Rs.50,000. Later suspecting his behaviour, the registrar, M Narayanaya lodged a complaint with the Alur police station on Monday, said Ankaveedu Prasad.
With the complaint, the Alur Circle Inspector Dastagiri Babu and his team laid a trap and apprehended the imposter. Earlier, the accused was also said to have threatened the Kodumur Sub Registrar and took Rs.25,000.
``We have seized a car and four mobiles from his possession. A case on Kadirakunta Santha Raj and his driver Reddigari Somasekhar Reddy has been registered. The duo would be produced in the court for further action, stated the DSP.
The Hans India asked to the DSP, when the sub registrar is not corrupted, then why he has given the accused the demanded amount, The DSP did not give direct answer, but said that the DIG Stamps and Registration department would pursue the matter.
