Bank staff seek 20% pay rise
Vijayawada: The United Forum of Bank Unions on Thursday gave a call for 48 hours strike on May 30-31 across India. Addressing media here, All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) secretary Y Srinivas Rao said that since November 2017 the wage revision issue was pending.
The government did not settle the issue even after several meetings with Indian Banks Association and bank unions since last November. He said that all the nine unions, including officers’ will participate in the strike for increase in salaries up to 20 per cent.
Srinivasa Rao said the work pressure has been increased on bank officers and staff since demonetisation. He said the government says the banks were incurring loss due to bad loans, but politicians and big businessmen are involved in them.
