TTD to resume issue of Slotted Sarva Darshan tokens from tomorrow
Tirumala: The issuing of tokens for Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) which was suspended by TTD in Tirumala two days ago will resume from Saturday. The 33 SSD counters operating in Tirumala hills were closed on Tuesday owing to unprecedented rush of pilgrims. They will reopen from Saturday at zero hours, said Tirumala JEO KS Sreenivasa Raju.
Addressing media persons at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Thursday evening, the JEO said, ``TTD introduced Sarva Darshan Token system to avoid long waiting hours by pilgrims in queue lines and compartments. But due to midsummer rush, the darshan time reached 72 hours and TTD closed the counters in Tirumala on May 22. ‘’
The JEO said that a detailed review meeting with IT and Vigilance wings was conducted at Gokulam Rest House conference hall. It was decided that similar to Special Entry and Divya Darshan systems, a quota has been fixed even for Sarva Darshan Token system for every day in a week.
On Saturday and Sunday, we will issue 30,000 tokens, while on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 17,000 and on Monday and Friday it is fixed as 20,000 , he said. These tokens will be issued on daily basis till the quota limit for the day expires.
