CM promised urban seat in next polls, claims Adireddy

Rajamahendravaram: TDP MLC Adireddy Appa Rao has said that he will continue in the party until his last breath and obey the party president and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. 

“I came into politics as a businessman and there is no need to earn money in politics. 

Service to society is important than political posts. Started my career as a lecturer for Rs 500 and later entered into business and settled well in business and there is need to go here and there for money,” he said.

Participating in a meet-the-press programme held at Rajahmundry Press Club here on Friday, he said Naidu assured him to give an opportunity in 2019 Assembly elections. 

As per his directions, one of my family members would contest from Urban Assembly constituency.

Naidu was the saviour of the state and an able administrator, he praised.

“I worked with rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary for a period of 22 years from 1992 and later left him for various reasons and joined YSRCP. Again returned to TDP. 

The TDP is striving for the welfare of all communities. 

Naidu entrusted the task of running the party in the city to me and GUDA chairman Ganni Krishna,” he said.

Financial assistance of Rs 1 crore was extended from CM's Relief Fund to the needy and Rs 50 lakh worth of proposals were in pending with CM office. 

Naidu so far gave a grant of Rs 82 crore to the city for various development works. 

Hitakarini Samajam and educational institutions under its control would be merged into Adikavi Nannaya University shortly, he informed.

He further revealed that Adikavi Nannaya University vice-chancellor Prof Murru Mutyala Naidu wrote to the government on his own asking to pay an amount of Rs 70 crore for their merger and because of this, it was delayed. 

Expressing concern over vice-chancellor's attitude, the MLC said it was not good on the part of him.
