Jagan promises to name West Godavari district after Alluri Sitarama Raju

Akiveedu: YSRCP president and Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy said that he would change the name of West Godavari as Alluri Sitarama Raju district if voted to power. His Praja Sankalpa Yatra reached Akiveedu on Friday evening where he addressed a massive public meeting. 

During his address, he spent major part of his time in flaying Chief Minister. He said that Chandrababu Naidu has cheated all sections of people in the state. He pointed out that Chandrababu had promised to remove the belt shops; but failed to remove them. In a high-tech manner, liquor is supplied to door delivery now. He said that the farmers of the district are regretting why they had voted TDP to power.

The YSRCP chief stated that the aqua farmers in the district are incurring heavy losses over the last four years.  If he comes to power, he will support the prawn farmers and construct cold storage and food processing units on the seashore. He assured that he will supply unit power for Rs.1.50 for aqua units and other allied industries will get unit power for Rs.5. He reaffirmed that the middle-men system would be scrapped.  

He said the farmers had told him that his father YS Rajasekhar Reddy had maintained credibility and Rs 800 crore works were taken up in Undi Assembly constituency during his regime.  Unfortunately, the present Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who won all the 15 seats in the district did nothing in the constituency, he said quoting the farmers. No new roads are constructed and there has been drinking water shortage in the district. 

We see plenty of water around these villages. However, not even single drop of water is safe to drink. The saline water bores are useless. The fish ponds which are facing acute water scarcity is now turning up as prawn ponds. The people are questioning how to drink such contaminated water” he said. Referring to the aqua farmers problems, Jagan said that the aqua farmers are facing hardships in selling their products.

One kg  prawn which costs Rs.460 now not getting Rs 200. The fish price also came down to Rs 80 per kg. He alleged that the Chief Minister Chandrababu encouraging the middlemen system in agriculture and aquaculture.  He assured that he would supply power to the aqua sector for Rs.1.50 per unit and allied factories Ice and processing units will get power for Rs.5 per unit. Former MLA Patapati Sarraju and others accompanied Jagan.
