Jain seer’s Ahimsa Yatra reaches Vijayawada on May 28

Vijayawada: East MLA Gadde Rammohan Rao has said that Jains’ Terapanth 11th Seer Acharya Sri Mahasraman is on ‘Ahimsa Yatra’ and will reach Vijayawada, Amaravati on May 28.

Addressing the media here on Friday, he said that the state government had announced Tarapanth Seer as Andhra Pradesh State guest. He would be received with state honours.  

All the government officials, ministers, police, revenue and other departments would receive the seer.

Dinesh Shyam, president of Jain Swetamber Terapanthi, said the seer would stay in the city for two days and would participate in the Ahimsa Rally on May 28 which starts from Gurunanak Colony to Siddhartha Arts and Science College.

He said that about 2,000 devotees would participate in rally. The seer would deliver his message at Siddhartha Auditorium on Harmony, Morality and the De-Addiction, he added.

He recalled that the seer had started the Ahimsa Rally from New Delhi on November 9, 2014 and reached Andhra Pradesh on April 2 at Ramabhadrapuram village after completing his rally in 19 states, Nepal and Bhutan.

Dinesh expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for honouring the Seer Mahasraman as the state guest. He said the DGP, Malakondaiah would be the guest of honour on the occasion.

Jain Swetambar Terapanth secretary Sanjay Chajer, Terapanth Mahila Mandal president Kusum Doshi, Terapant Yuvak Parishath president Manoj Pugalia and members of other Jain associations were present.
