PM Modi betrayed AP: Congress
Kurnool: District Congress Committee (DCC) President P Lakshmi Reddy said Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) gave a call to take out a rally on May 26, protesting against the four-year draconian rule of the Modi government. He asked the party cadre to make the rally, a grand success.
Speaking to the media at the party office here on Thursday, Lakshmi Reddy alleged that the BJP-led NDA government has betrayed the AP people without implementing the bifurcation promises including Special Category Status (SCS).
He criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not fulfilling the election promise of bringing back the black money from abroad within 100 days of coming to power. Narendra Modi had extended support to the bank fraudsters Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi and Vijay Mallya to flee from the country, he alleged.
The DCC chief further said that Modi had assured of farmers of enhancing support price to their produce. Instead of supporting the farmers, he had extended subsidies to corporate firms, he slammed. After BJP coming to power, Reddy said atrocities against SCs, STs, Muslims and Christians have increased.
On the occasion, the Congress leaders released a poster of Narendra Modi consisting of twelve heads (Ravana). Former ZP Chairman Akepogu Venkataswamy, DCC Vice-President S Venugopal Reddy and other Congress leaders were present.
