Take preventive steps to curb viral fevers: Chandrababu Naidu
Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to take preventive measures in the areas where the communicable diseases rampant during a teleconference with the collectors from Krishna and Visakhapatnam districts on Friday.

Dengue and other viral fevers were rampant at Somavaram village in Chaprai mandal in Krishna district and more than 20 patients were under high pressure, according to the officials.
The government arranged special medical camps in the village and provided treatment to more than 15 patients there itself. Four patients were joined in Government General Hospital in Vijayawada for better treatment.
The officials informed that they did not find any dengue case in Somavaram village but they found general viral fevers. The health and medical officials informed to Chief Minister that they were monitoring the viral fever affected areas and initiating preventive measures immediately.
Meanwhile, Naidu said the departments should work with coordination to prevent such incidents and directed both urban and rural department officials to replace old drinking water pipelines with new ones to provide clean water. He suggested to plug leakages of drinking water pipelines across the state, to avoid water pollution problems.
