Guntur: Minister for Roads and Buildings and District In-Charge Minister Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu directed the party cadre to popularise the development works taken up by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to romp home in the ensuing Assembly elections in the state.

Addressing Mahanadu at Sri Venkateswara Vigana Mandiram here on Friday, he said that the government was giving pensions to 54 lakh eligible people per month and planning to sanction another 3.5 lakh pensions to extend helping hand to the poor.

Despite financial constraints, the government was continuing welfare schemes, he said and instructed the cadre to conduct campaigns in 13,000 gram panchayats in the state.

He came down heavily on Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy and said he has no moral right to criticise Naidu. Civil Supplies Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao said the people would elect TDP to power for another 10 years for all-round development of the state.

He recalled the welfare schemes and programmes launched during the TDP regime, including interlinking of rivers, crop loan waiver and Anna Canteens for the welfare of the downtrodden. He warned that voters will teach a befitting lesson to the BJP in the coming elections in the state.

Minister for Social Welfare Nakka Anand Babu, MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, MLA and TDP district president GV Anjaneyulu, MLA Sravan Kumar, MLC AS Ramakrishna, Guntur Mirchi Yard chairman Mannava Subba Rao were present.
