Vizianagaram: Sambangi Venkata Chinappala Naidu, a senior leader in the district, joined the YSR Congress Party in the presence of party Chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy and senior leader Botcha Satyanarayana and others in West Godavari district on Friday.

Sambangi had won as an MLA in 1983, 1985 and 1994 on TDP ticket and was appointed as the Government Whip in 1994. Later, he differed with the local leadership and joined Congress. He contested from Bobbili on Congress ticket and was defeated by RVSK Ranga Rao of YSRCP. Later, Sujay joined TDP and became the minister.

And now, Sambangi switching over his loyalties to YSRCP is a good boost to that party and he is likely to contest in next elections. He has good relationship with public and has strong family background too. MLA P Pushpa Srivani, MLC K Veerabhadra Swamy and others were present on the occasion. Later, Jagan urged the leaders to work together to strengthen the party.
