Diarrhoea control fortnight in West Godavari from today
Eluru: District medical and health officer B Subrahmanyeswari said that a special fortnightly drive on controlling diarrhoea will be taken up from May 28 to June 11 in the district.
Addressing the media at her office here, she said that during the fortnight programme, ORS packets would be distributed in the villages. She stated that during the summer, higher temperatures cause sunstroke and the patients suffer from diarrhoea.
It has decided to create awareness among the people on the diarrhoea and the disease could be controlled with ORS packets and zinc tablets, she added. She said that steps should taken up at Anganwadi Centres to supply nutritious food to the children as the malnutrition also causes diarrhoea.
During the fortnight programme, the medical staff would conduct a household survey and distribute ORS and zinc tablets to the patients, district medical officers K Suresh Babu, V Rambabu, M Mohan Rao were present.
