Guntur: The Guntur Urban district police rejected the permission for Padayatra and meeting of AgriGold Customers and Agents Welfare Association to be held from Sri Venkateswara Vignana Mandir here on May 31.

Addressing a press meet held here on Monday, Guntur DSP Srinivasa Rao said that if meeting is allowed at Bible Mission Grounds, the vehicles will come onto NH-5.

He said that it would lead to traffic problem on the highway.

He further said that earlier, some persons pelted stones at the Old Guntur Police Station.

The Guntur tahsildar had already imposed Section 144.
