Rowdy sheets against rapists, warns SP

Eluru: West Godavari District Superintendent of Police M Ravi Prakash has warned that rowdy sheet would be opened against rapists in the district. 
   
He conducted Mee Kosam, the grievances redressal programme at District Police office here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said anyone who indulged in crime against women and minors would be dealt with seriously.  

He said so far 98 culprits have identified in the sexual harassment cases against minor girls and women in the district. 

Out of these 98 persons, rowdy sheets have been opened against 69 persons and the sheets would also be opened against the remaining 46 persons. 

He warned that the persons who had indulged in criminal activities and included in the rowdy sheeter list would get no government job and employment opportunities in their life.  

The police officer suggested the women not to go to the Gulf or other countries on visiting visas for employment. 

He clarified that the women who seek employment overseas should have the work permit visa. 

The police verification would clear the work permit visa for women to get job overseas, he added.

Later, he received petitions from people on their problems. 

The SP directed the concerned officials to take necessary action to clear those petitions after verification.
