Need to unite missing children with parents stressed

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Juvenile Justice Board joint director BDV Prasad Murthy said that missing children and street children should be united with their parents. He was the chief guest at the one-day workshop organised by Forum for Child Rights at their office here on Monday. 

Speaking on the occasion, Prasad Murthy said that children have the right to be with the family, and when we are unable to provide a family to these children then we are a total failure. He appealed to the participants to make use of this workshop and provide a secured family to the children.

Resource person Ian Anand of Delhi said that children should not be kept at home hostels for a long time and should be united with their family at a right time. AT every home there should be a placement officer to ensure development in the children, he added.

District Child Welfare Committee(CWC) chairman B V S Kumar said awareness should be created on Juvenile Justice (JJ) and should work accordingly. He said that as part of the development programme the children should be manifested as responsible citizens of the country.

District CWC member Malleswara Rao, Dr Fr P Ingenious, Safali Saida, Francis, JJB member Jayaraju and others were present.
