Collector inspects UPSC prelims exam centre

Tirupati: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be conducting civil services preliminary examination-2018 across the country on June 3. In Tirupati, 6,665 candidates will be writing the exam in 13 centres. District Collector PS Pradyumna has reviewed the arrangements for the examination at the Sub-Collector’s office in Tirupati on Tuesday.

He said that the examination will be held at SPW Junior College, SPW Degree College, SP Girls High School, SGS College, SV Government Polytechnic College, SGS High School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, SVU College of Engineering, SVU Arts College, SV High School etc. No student will be allowed to enter the examination centre after 9.20 am for the first paper and 2.20 pm for second paper and the main gates will be closed.

Mobile jammers will be installed at every examination centre. After completion of the examination, OMR sheets have to reach the head post office in 30 minutes with full security packing which will be sent to New Delhi through the Chennai Airport. For prelims exam, Deepak Sharma will act as UPSC observer and Industries Commissioner of AP government Siddarth Jain as APPSC observer.

Pradyumna has instructed all the officials concerned to take all steps for the smooth conduction of the examination without any mistakes. RTC has to run special buses from railway station and bus stand and the Police department should ensure free vehicular flow, he stated.

Adequate furniture, drinking water, medical kits and continuous power supply should be ensured, the Collector informed officials. Joint Collector PS Girisha, Corporation Commissioner Vijay Rama Raju, Joint Collector-2 V Chandramouli, Tirupati RDO Kanaka Narasa Reddy, ASP Swamy and other officials took part.
