Nellore: Now, applying for a degree course has become quite easy for candidates as the higher education department introduced an Integrated Academic Management System for common admissions.

The students can fill common application form for any college in the district without verifying seats in the respective colleges. The Department of Higher Education (DHE) had started www.APSAMS.in for submitting their applications for all colleges online where applicants can check their application status post submission at any point of time before the merit list is published.

After publication of merit list, students can compare their selection status with that of others and whether the process has been taken up in a transparent way. The centralised selection for all colleges will be an advantage and opportunity for students to go for better choice of colleges.

Now, many students who failed to secure good rank in the EAMCET are preferring graduation course of their choice and they were facing difficulty to choose a college and find status of vacancies in the institutions. Moreover, they have to apply to all colleges individually and have to go through the selection process.

“The single window admission system being implemented from 2018-19 across the State would give an opportunity to get a seat as the entire admission process was proposed to be digitised in the system starting from application, selection, intimation and admission will be done systematically under hassle-free procedure,” said Principal of a government degree college.

First, candidate who seeks admission in any college has to register his/her name, and an OTP will be generated. Then, using the OTP they have to login and check for online admission form. They have to fill details in the form and give choice of colleges up to 5 according to their priority.

Seats will be allocated on the basis of marks in Intermediate and also roster of reservation. They have to obtain challan and pay Rs 50 in Mee Seva, or e-Seva Centres. They will get seat allotment message after finalisation of the process.

The ‘e-Administration’ uses the database created by e-Admission to manage the student information by accepting, adding, modifying or removing information about students and generating reports.

Apart from the reports, a student will be able to track his/her admission status, college-wise intimation lists and roll number after admission through the website. Students applying for admissions will get SMS/e-mail alerts at each stage, officials say.

There are 801 government/ aided/autonomous colleges across the State and there are around 35 such institutions in the district. DHE announced that last date for submitting application and payment of registration fee is June 10. Now, lecturers of government and aided colleges are busy with campaign on the new system and easy admission process.
