NAD flyover construction works: Traffic routes changed

Visakhapatnam: Due to the ongoing construction of NAD flyover, the traffic police changed the traffic routes from Anakapalle-Anandapuram-Anakapalle via NAD Junction. According to ADCP (Traffic) M Ramesh Kumar, the traffic restrictions would be implemented from Wednesday to ensure a hassle-free traffic in the city.

The drivers from Visakhapatnam city to the airport and airport to the city should opt the road and flyover which was laid in between Sheelanagar, Port Road and reach Convent Junction instead of passing over NAD Junction. The vehicles from Visakhapatnam to Gajuwaka towards Anakapalli should continue their journey through Sheelanagar, Port Road and reach Convent Junction instead of passing through NAD Junction.

In another route, the vehicles, which pass towards Gopalapatnam, Pendurthi, and Araku roads, should move to Hanumanthwaka, Adavivaram and Central Jail BRTS Road instead of passing NAD Junction through highway. The vehicles from Gajuwaka towards Gopalapatnam, Pendurthi, Kothavalasa instead of passing through NAD Junction, they should use the route from Sheelanagar-Narava and also can go from Vimananagar-Yellapuvanipalem-Kothapalem. 

The heavy and goods vehicles from Kolkatta, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram towards Anakapalle,Vijayawada and Chennai  should divert through Anandapuram via Pendurthi and Sabbavaram instead of entering the city. In the same way, the vehicles coming from Gangavaram port, Visakha Port Trust (VPT), Pharmacity Yelamanchili, Parawada, Anakapalle proceeding towards Srikakulam and Vizianagaram will be diverted at Lankelapalem and proceed via Sabbavaram and Pendurthy towards Anandapuram on the National Highway-16 instead of coming over through NAD junction. The owners and drivers should notice the changes in the route to avoid traffic troubles during the construction of the flyover at NAD Junction,  ADCP Ramesh Kumar added.
