Former MLA Surreddy passes away
Visakhapatnam: Former VUDA Chairman and MLA T Suryanarayana Reddy, popularly known as Surreddy, passed away on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city. Due to various health issues, he was admitted to a hospital and underwent surgery.
Surreddy maintained cordial relations with former chief ministers Jalagam Vengala Rao, Marri Channa Reddy, Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy, YS Rajasekhara Reddy and Nedurumalli Janardhana Reddy.
He had started his political career as a Youth Congress leader and emerged as a strong leader in 80s. He was elected as Visakhapatnam-II MLA in 1989 when the Congress had formed the government in Andhra Pradesh.
Later, he was nominated as the Chairman of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority. Several political leaders of various parties expressed their condolence over his demise.
