Incident at ZP meet unfortunate, says Subramanyam
Rajamahendravaram: Legislative Council deputy chairman Reddy Subramanyam on Wednesday, termed the recent incident during ZP meeting wherein he pelted water bottle on YSRCP MLA Chirla Jaggi Reddy as unfortunate.
“I had reacted when the Kothapeta MLA used unparliamentary language and throw papers on me,” he reminded.
Participating in a Meet-the-press programme held at Rajahmundry Press Club here, Subramanyam said that he was ready to resign to his MLC post, if the MLA
or any other person proves that he involved in sand digging in the ramps or collect money from them.
A ZPTC member had raised the sand ramps issue in the meeting with the ‘instigation’ of MLA Jaggi Reddy.
“Later, Reddy made allegations against me that I am taking bribes at Podagatlapalli sand ramp, which prompted me to react. With this, I asked the MLA to tell the person indulging in corruption at Gopalapuram sand ramp in his own village, but in vain.
Not able to answer this, the MLA resorted to the heinous task,” he complained.
Subramanyam agreed that behaviour of both was not good and underlined the need to behave properly in the meetings.
“The MLA’s supporters met me and said the MLA was ready to speak with him to resolve the problem.
The problem will be settled, if the MLA explains the whole episode in a press meet and assures to work properly.
A meeting will be held in Ravulapalem on Thursday, to brief about the incident to Kothapeta constituency people and also to tell about the corrupt activities of the MLA.
The MLA’s henchmen damaged a flexi at Ravulapalem centre which showed how the MLA throwing papers on him and again used filthy language.
All parties were equal to me as deputy chairman of Legislative Council and for that only not attended to Mahanadu also.
