44 held in cricket betting, Rs 10.52 lakh seized

Guntur: Rural district police arrested 44 persons who were involved in cricket betting and recovered Rs 10.52 lakh in cash, one communication box, 81 cell phones, one laptop, one car and 6.5 kgs of ganja from their possession in Narasaraopet town on Friday.

The police eyed on Chilakaluripet, Narasaraopet, Vinukonda, Sattenapalli towns and arrested the persons for involving in cricket betting. 

One month ago, they had arrested 65 persons involved in the cricket betting and seized properties belonging to them.

Following information, they eyed on those involved in cricket betting and arrested while they were in a car in Chilakaluripet Road in Narasaraopet. 

They arrested them and produced before media.
