BJP to contest all 175 seats in state
Rajamahendravaram: Bharatiya Janata Party MLC Somu Veerraju said that the party will contest in all 175 Assembly constituencies in the ensuing elections on its own in Andhra Pradesh and there is no proposal to go for alliance with Jana Sena Party (JSP) or YSR Congress Party.
The MLC participated in `Meet the Press’ programme at the Press Club here on Friday and said that BJP will prove its strength in 2019 elections. BJP never set aside its strategy, though it invites leaders of other parties and there is no wrong in it, he said.
This also helps to change the mindset of the leaders who joins into the party. Now BJP is in power in majority of states in the country. Chief Minister candidate will be decided by party high command, he replied to a question.
He advised media men to conduct a test to the contesting candidates to know their knowledge about their respective constituencies. Replying to another question, he said BJP graph never comes down and the party is working continuously and it is not a company.
Brushing aside the allegation that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is acting like a dictator, he said there will be some problems when a Prime Minister like Modi trying to set the things right in the system. The Central government is putting its efforts to bring back the fraudsters like Nirav Modi etc.
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is trying to lure the people to come to power again in 2019 elections, he said. BJP will appoint spiritual personalities like Chinna Jeeyar or Chaganti Koteswara Rao in TTD if it comes to power, Veerraju added.
