DSP, constable in ACB net
Rajamahendravaram: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths trapped a deputy superintendent of police and a constable of Rajamahendravaram urban district while accepting bribe on Thursday night.
According to ACB officials, South Zone DSP P Narayana Rao and constable B Ramesh were taken into custody when they were accepting a bribe of Rs 55,000, relating to a civil case. Tatikonda Wilson Kumar of the city had a dispute with Talluri Keerthi Priya, currently residing in Khammam, over the sale of a house. A case relating to the issue is pending in the court.
It was alleged that Keerthi Priya was demanding extra to the agreed amount for the house. But Wilson refused to pay. Meanwhile, Keerthi Priya lodged a complaint with urban SP alleging that Wilson Kumar had forged her signature.
Following the complaint, the urban SP directed DSP Narayana Rao to enquire the case. However, the DSP had demanded a bribe. Wilson Kumar complained to the ACB that the police officer had demanded Rs 2 lakh to prevent his arrest and finally the deal was settled for Rs 55,000. The recordings of the phone conversations were also handed over to the ACB.
