Good response to AP FiberNet services
Tirupati: Internet, phone, television channels and other services being offered through a broadband connection by Andhra Pradesh State FiberNet Limited (APSFL) for Rs 149 per month to every house is getting good response from the people of Chief Minister’s home district.
The APSFL gave 25,000 connections in two months in the district. The State government is providing the FibreNet services through high-end technology by laying Optic Fibre Cables (OFCs) from the local electric sub-stations and HT electrical lines are used for data transmission with high quality.
Two days ago, District Collector PS Pradyumna had reviewed the progress of FiberNet services. He directed the MPDOs to ensure FiberNet connections were given to every household in their jurisdiction.
He asked the Multi-System Operators (MSOs) to explain the benefits of FiberNet to people especially in villages. The government had appointed MSOs and Local Cable Operators (LCOs) to provide broadband connections in the district.
Speaking to The Hans India, Tirupati-based MSO N Pravallika said that there was good response from all sections of the society for services being offered by the FibreNet.
“We have crossed more than 5,000 connections in the last two months. My target is to reach 10,000 connections in the next two months,” she stated.
Regarding the broadband speed and quality, Rukmangada Raju of LS Nagar in Tirupati said the picture and sound quality is very good and he is enjoying unlimited net facility. “I have been viewing the YouTube and other social media content on TV screen without a computer or mobile,” he stated.
