B Tech graduate dupes gold trader, held
Kakinada: The central crime station (CCS) police arrested Akella Suresh,28, a B Tech graduate and resident of Jagannaickpur area in the city and recovered 8 gold biscuits each weighing 100 grams from his possession. Suresh procured gold biscuits by duping a local gold trader Sunkara Sairam.
Speaking to media on Saturday, SP Vishal Gunni said the accused impersonated Sunkara Sairam as aqua trader on March 14 and stated that he had got Rs 78 lakh profit in prawn exports. He impressed upon trader that he wanted to save money in the form of gold.
During conversation, the accused informed the trader that he will pay the amount online. Believing his words, Sairam informed his owners Swarna Jewellers and arranged supply of 8 gold biscuits worth Rs 26.40 lakh. But Sairam found the online transfer of amount fake and approached III town police.
The police team headed by CCS DSP Pallapu Raju and CI Sudhakar swung into action and after intensive search arrested Suresh and recovered the property. The SP also said the accused Suresh was also involved in cheating youth promising them of government jobs and in cheque bounce cases as he addicted to lavish life style and wanted to earn easy money.
