Nava nirmana Deeksha : ‘CM striving for all-round growth of AP’

Visakhapatnam: Collector Pravin Kumar, along with MLAs V Ramakrishna Babu and V Ganesh Kumar, flagged off a massive rally as part of Nava Nirmana Deeksha (Dedicated reconstruction of the state) from Governor’s Bungalow on Saturday. 

Thousands of employees, officials, students and the people took part in the rally which concluded at VUDA Children’s Theatre, Siripuram, followed by a meeting.

The meeting was started with the telecast of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s address in Vijayawada. The Collector administered pledge stating that everyone should strive for all-round development of the state.

Addressing a gathering, the Collector said that it is time to discuss the progress of the state in the past four years. 

It is everyone’s responsibility to discuss and review development and welfare activities in the state. After the bifurcation of the state, there are several problems and issues being faced by the state. 

The people in the state should involve and support each other to build a new state, Pravin Kumar suggested.

The water conservation works, which were taken up at a cost of Rs 100 crore in the district, were giving good results. The underground water levels increased from five metres to seven metres, the Collector said.

During the week-long Navanirmana Deeksha, ration cards, pensions and houses would be sanctioned to all the eligible beneficiaries. 

Assets distribution, presentation of Chandranna Bheema claims, residential house sites distribution would be given, the Collector added.

Addressing the gathering, MLAs Ramakrishna Babu and Ganesh Kumar said that though the government was facing financial crunch, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was taking up both development and welfare programmes across the state. 

Though the Central government was not supporting the state, Andhra Pradesh achieved two-digit growth, they pointed out. The MLAs demanded that the Centre release pending dues to the state forthwith.

Joint Collector G Srijana, Vice-Chairman of VUDA Basanth Kumar, Commissioner of GVMC M Hari Narayanan and Superintendent of Police Rahul Dev Varma also spoke. The programme concluded with colourful cultural programmes.
