Sidda Raghava Rao​ to skip Narendra Modi meet

Amaravati: Minister for forests and environment Sidda Raghava Rao will attend a conference of environment ministers of states on June 4 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

Union minister for environment, forest and climate change Harsh Vardhan invited Raghava Rao for the programme of World Environment Day also at the same place on June 5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend as the chief guest to the programme. However, Ragahava Rao has reportedly decided to attend meeting on June 4 only.

The major issues proposed for discussion in the conference on June 4 are revision of the state action plan on climate change, pollution abatement, national clean air programme, waste management and environmental clearness.

The conference would provide an opportunity to share best practices of states and views on various laws, rules and processes. The Centre also wanted the states to actively participate in the World Environment Day in New Delhi also and invited major ideas and decisions for safeguarding environment for future generations.
