Twitter post rescues youth in Abu Dhabi
Visakhapatnam: Responding to a twitter post, the city police rescued 21 persons from Abu Dhabi. All the 21 victims belong to Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam.
Addressing the media here on Saturday T Yoganand said that one LD Prasad, who claimed as an agent for recruitment of various posts in UAE collected money from Rs 60,000 to Rs 80,000 from 21 persons assuring them to employ in Vesco Robotec Welding Institute in Abu Dhabi.
The accused also handed over offer letters in the name of Hyundai Company to 21 persons.
All the victims rushed to Abu Dhabi on April 3,5,6 and 8.
Soon after they landed in Abu Dhabi, they came to know that they landed with fake employment offer letters and the agent Prasad cheated them.
The victims had approached the Indian Embassy at Abu Dhabi and urged to help them, but in vain, Yoganand said. The police arrested the accused at Autonagar in the city.
One Laxmana Pukkala, one of the victims, had brought the issue to the notice of city police by putting a post on twitter account.
After consulting with the Indian Embassy, finally, the city police brought all the 21 victims to India, the Commissioner of Police said.
