CM Naidu wants to make AP Drought-Free: Dokka
Guntur: MLC Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad said that the government had interlinked Krishna and Godavari rivers to supply Godavari water to Krishna delta to start cultivation within stipulated time.
He addressed Nava Nirmana Deekha meeting held in NGO Kalyana Mandapam here on Sunday.
Speaking on this occasion, he said that Chief Minister N Chandrbabu Naidu was making efforts to make the state as drought-free state.
He said that he has proposal to supply Godavari water to Rayalaseema district to solve drought problem.
“If we interlink the rivers, we will get good results and farmers will get sufficient water for irrigation. When the farmers will get good yield, agro-based industries will flourish in the state,” he opined.
Stating that Chandrababu Naidu was working hard for the development of state, he said there was need to elect him again for the development of state.
ZP Chairperson Janimun stressed on preserving water and reminded that steps taken by the government to preserve water.
She said that it was a good proposal to supply Godavari water to Rayalaseema districts.
Guntur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar said that the GMC would implement 24X7 drinking water supply scheme soon. “If this project is completed, the GMC can supply quality water,” he added.
