Krishna District athletics team selected

Vijayawada: Krishna District Athletics Association (KDAA) secretary N Nageswara Rao informed here on Monday that the athletics team from district will participate in the Andhra Pradesh State Youth Athletics Championship (Under-18 years), men and women to be held at AC Subba Reddy Stadium, Nellore from June 6-7.

The athletes who perform well, will be selected to represent AP for Inter-State Athletic Championship 2018 at Guwahati (Assam) to be held from June 26-29. The KDAA secretary said 10 athletes were selected in under-19 girls category.

The coach of the under-19 girls team will be G Krishna Kumari. About 11 women athletes were selected for women category and the coach is J Vara Lakshmi, he said. He said seven boys were selected and the coach and manager of the youth boys team is U Gurunadham. Over 25-member team was selected in men category and the coach is DNV Vinayaka Prasad and chief coach is Sai, he added.
