Sakthi Sanghatan chief appointed

Visakhapatnam: Congress senior leader K Gopalreddy was appointed as president of City Congress Sakthi Sanghatan, a brain child of Congress chief Rahul Gandhi. 

Speaking on the occasion on Sunday, Gopalreddy said there was a need to strengthen the party from ground-level and he would work for reviving its past glory. Learning lessons from the failures, the party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi is taking several people-friendly programmes and bringing the issues to the notice of administration.

The full body of Sakthi Sanghatan committee would be set up shortly by appointing ward-level and constitution presidents. The Sakthi Sanghatan would take all the people issues, Reddy added.

He thanked party president Rahul Gandhi, state president A Mansuri, PCC general secretary Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao and city president B Bhaskara Rao for appointing him as Sakthi Sanghatan president.
