Venkateshwar gets APJ Abdul Kalam Award

Vijayawada: Dr P Venkateshwar, principal of Vijaya Institute of Technology for Women received Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Lifetime Achievement National Award from Karnataka Legislative Council chairman DH Shankara Murthy at Bangalore on June 2. 

The International Institute for Social and Economic Reforms, Bangalore organised a cultural programme and presentation of national awards on the eve of its anniversary celebrations.

The national awards were given to senior professors in various fields and areas for their contribution in their respective fields from Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Goa, according to Dr Venkateshwar.

He said that the life time achievement award was given to him for his contribution to the national development and achieving excellence in the field of teaching for 29 years which include 19 years of teaching various subjects of engineering, technology, sciences, personality development lecturers, counselling and guiding students besides as Head of the Department and as a Principal. 

He also contributed to research, publications and consultancy members.

He was also felicitated by film producer Nagendra Magadi.
