Awareness camp on fertilisers, seeds organised

 Ongole: The agriculture department and Tobacco Board officials organised an awareness camp for the farmers on green manure fertilisers and seeds at the Ongole 1 Tobacco Auction Centre on Tuesday.

Joint Director of agriculture PV Srirama Murthy, regional manager of Southern Light Soils G Ratna Sagar, regional manager of Southern Black Soils G Uma Maheswara Rao and auction manager K Ravikumar and other officials participated in the programme.

The JDS, PV Srirama Murthy said that the agriculture department was supplying green manure seeds for 75 percent subsidy to the farmers. 

He asked the farmers to utilise the opportunity and reduce the expenditure of chemical fertilisers and increase quantity and quality of produce. 

He ordered the department officials to go to the farmers’ doorstep to register for the green manure seeds and supply them directly.

Later, the JDA and Tobacco Board officials distributed the green manure seeds to the interested farmers. 

The farmers felicitated Srirama Murthy for supplying the manure seeds in time and cooperating with the farmers in the district.
