Students take Oath to Save Environment

Vijayawada: To mark World Environment Day, the students of the Eco Club of Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala organised various programmes, according to the college principal Dr T Vijaya Lakshmi.

She said that the staff and students took oath proposed by former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam to safeguard the environment. 

The students picked bio-degradable and non bio-degradable waste from the college campus and separated them and acquired subject knowledge on them, she said. Saplings were planted at the college playground.

She expressed her happiness that the students started their academic year with cleaning the college premises and taking the oath to protect the environment. 

She said that the students should feel the responsibility to keep their surroundings clean.

Club convener U Sunila, faculty members V Bhagyalakshmi, D Uma, Dr K Lakshmi, Sara, Salomi and others participated in the programme.
