BJMM activists burn Akhila Priya’s effigy

Eluru: The Bharatiya Janata Mahila Morcha (BJMM) and BJP activists burnt the effigy of Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya at RTC Bus Stand centre in Tadepalligudem town in West Godavari district on Wednesday in protest against her derogatory statement against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The women activists of BJMM took out  a rally from MLA Pydikondala Manikyala Rao’s camp office led by BJMM State President Saranala Malathi Rani and the rally passed through main roads in the town. The activists reached RTC bus stand centre and burnt the effigy of Minister Akhila Priya. 

BJMM State President Malathi Rani addressing the gathering said that Akhila Priya has made derogatory comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She criticised that Akhila Priya won as an MLA on one party mandate and joined another party for her selfish gains. As a Tourism Minister, she never consoled the victims of launch accidents that took place in the state.  

She expressed concern over the TDP government’s failure in protecting the women in the state.  She demanded that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu dismiss Akhila Priya from the Cabinet immediately. Later, the BJMM leaders submitted a memorandum to tahsildar  Pasam Nagamani.

BJMM State Secretary Nirmala Kishore, convener Ayinam Sridevi, district president Subhadra, town BJMM president Dhanalakshmi  took part in the protest.
