Driver killed as truck hits container

Nellore: A driver from West Bengal killed in a road accident on the national highway at North Rajupalem in Kodavalur mandal in the wee hours of Wednesday. According to police, a truck was moving from Jalpaiguri in West Bengal to Karnataka for bringing eggs.

The vehicle hit a moving container at North Rajupalem and the truck driver Roy crushed to death in between the two vehicles. Locals saw that the container dragged the truck for around 5 km.

Driver of the container fled from the scene leaving the vehicle. Kodavalur police booked a case and shifted the dead body to the government hospital for post-mortem.
