2 Ex-Maoists Surrender

 Kakinada: Two militia members of CPI Maoists surrendered before East Godavari police on Friday.

The surrendered are Madakam Ramalu (37) of Penkirai village, Malkangiri district of Odisha and Thathi Kanna (35) of the same village.

Disclosing the details to the media, East Godavari SP Vishal Gunni on Friday said that both joined as Militia members in the year 2013 under the leadership of Radha, ACM, Kalimela Dadam and Ashok, DCM also of Kalimela Dalam.

Both participated in various Maoist offences like blasting and arson. Two years later in 2015, both were promoted as armed militia members and received 12 bore weapons from Militia commander Suresh.

 The SP said that both left the CPI Maoist party vexed with organisational issues and left for Hyderabad by working as coolies.  

On coming to know that the Maoists were searching for them they came to East Godavari and surrendered  before police, the SP disclosed.

The SP appreciated Additional SP (operations)  Y Sivasankar Reddy and CI P Srinivasa    Rao in this connection.
