2K Run to promote Miosolia Beach Fest

Vijayawada: Minister for Sports and Youth Kollu Ravindra, badminton player PV Sindhu, officials, sports persons and others took part in 2K Run organised to promote the three-day Miosolia Beach Festival-2018 which will commence on June 9 and conclude on June 11.

The 2K Run was flagged off at Koneru Centre at Machilipatnam on Thursday. A torch was carried by the minister and the badminton star, after reaching ZP Centre and lit the cauldron.

The 2K Run, which was scheduled to start by 8 am, was delayed due to heavy rain and was started at 12 pm. Earlier, on account of overnight rain all the low-lying areas at Machilipatnam were submerged.

Soon after the rain stopped, the corporation workers cleared the stagnated water and the run was flagged off. Despite rain, students, officials and people's representatives participated in the run with enthusiasm. All the participants raised slogans to make the beach festival a grand success.
