Vijayawada: CPI and CPM state secretaries K Ramakrishna and P Madhu said that a state-level political seminar would be conducted in Vijayawada on June 20.

Speaking to media here on Thursday, they said national leaders of various parties would take part in the seminar and they would discuss the political situation in the state.

They said the TDP and YSRCP were blaming the each other for protecting their own political interests and recalled that both parties supported the NDA government during the President elections. They also criticised the ruling and Opposition parties for colluding with BJP neglecting the state interests.

The Left leaders said there was a need to change the political system in the state. They also took strong objection to the government’s Nava Nirmana Deeksha and lambasted it for conducting Deeksha for gaining political mileage. The government should criticise the Centre instead of targeting the Opposition parties in the state, they said. They called upon people to agitate against the government.

The Left leaders also gave a call to protest against the government opposing increase in taxes on diesel and petrol prices hike. Both the leaders said they would expose the failures of the state and Central governments in public on various forms.
