MSME parks, ancillary units to generate jobs for locals
Anantapur: The state government as part of special industrialisation drive in the district to generate employment for the educated jobless has embarked on establishing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) parks in all the 14 Assembly constituencies through the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC). It has also come up with the concept of setting up skill development centres in all the Assembly Constituencies in the district.
APIIC Zonal Manager Ranjith told The Hans India that land has already been identified for setting up of MSME parks in 11 Assembly constituencies. The parks are being set up in 50 acres of land. Each entrepreneur would get 300 square metres of land and 200 such plots will be allotted in each park. Of the 11 layouts for each of the MSME park, as many as 4 such layouts have been approved.
Penukonda is fast emerging as an industrial town with scores of ancillary industries being in the pipeline. Already 6 ancillary units are coming up in Gudipalle village and another 6 industries coming up in Ammavaripalle in Penukonda division. About 3,000 acres of land has been recently allotted in the two villages in the Penukonda region. APIIC sources say that the MSME parks would generate jobs to the local youth.
The ancillary industries too would trigger in thousands of jobs in the automobile sector. District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) is in the process of establishing 14 skill development and training centres in all the 14 Assembly constituencies in the district. DRDA Project Director Rama Rao told The Hans India that so far 1,600 women have been trained in tailoring under an SC Action Plan by spending Rs 10 crore by providing interest free loans for their livelihood activities.
The DRDA's most successful programme is the employment and skill development linked to providing jobs in even multi-national companies. In the current year 2017-18, as many as 715 jobs were provided to the rural youth in several multi-national companies through the 42 job melas conducted so far.
