Raw deal to ryots in TDP rule
Vijayawada: Pradesh Congress Committee vice-president Nadendla Manohar alleged that injustice is meted out to the farmers in Andhra Pradesh under the rule of Telugu Desam Party. He said the Land Acquisition Act, 2013 has been amended to benefit Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Gujarat. Nadendla Manohar spoke to the media at the party state office here on Thursday.
He alleged that the farmers, who gave their lands to the government for the construction of the capital in Amaravati region, did not get justice. He underlined the need to fight for the protection of the rights of farmers. He expressed concern that the displaced farmers may suffer huge loss with the amendments made to the Land acquisition Act, 2013.
Referring to the MoU signed by the Andhra Pradesh government with the Singapore consortium, he questioned as to why the state government was signing the MoU again. He questioned as to why the construction works were not started in Amaravati.
Nadendla Manohar alleged that the TDP government is betraying the people of Andhra Pradesh on construction of the capital. Referring to Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu praising Singapore, the former Speaker questioned as to why the Chief Minister could not get investment for the development of the state and construction of the capital from Singapore for the last four years.
