Three electrocuted in two incidents

Eluru: Three persons were electrocuted in separate incidents in Penumantra and Kovvuru mandals on Friday. In the first incident, two masonary workers were electrocuted and another was seriously injured when they were engaged in construction of a compound wall of a house at Bhatla Maguturu village in Penumantra mandal on Friday.

According to police, Toram Chandrasekhar, 34, Gudla Suryanarayana of Brahmana Cheruvu village and Mekuri Upendra of Penumantra went to Bhatla Maguturu village for the construction of house. While fixing iron rods for building slab, they accidentally came in contact with a live wire of the street pole. In the incident, Chandrasekhar and Suryanarayana electrocuted and Mekuri Upendra received serious injuries. 

On receiving information, police reached the spot and shifted the seriously injured to the government hospital in Penumantra. The bodies of workers were shifted to a hospital for post-mortem. Chandrasekhar is survived by wife and two children while Suryanarayana is survived by wife and children. Penugonda police registered a case.

In another incident, a gas delivery boy was electrocuted at Tugommi village in Kovvuru mandal. The victim was identified as S Bhanuchander, 28, working as a gas delivery boy at Sivarama Gas Agency in Kovvuru. On Friday, Bhanuchander heard cries from neighbouring house while brushing at his house in Arundhatipet.

He immediately went into the house and saw the inmates K Ribka, K Samson and P Rita came in contact with live wire of motor. While rescuing their lives, he, too, accidentally came in contact with a live wire and was electrocuted.  Bhanuchander is survived by wife and two children. Kovvuru Rural SI Satish reached the sp0t and sent the body to the Kovvuru government hospital for post-mortem.
