Adulterated 2T oil worth 60 lakh seized in raids

Anantapur: On a tip off, vigilance and enforcement authorities, led by regional vigilance and enforcement officer G Ramanjaneyulu, raided on four adulterated lubricants manufacturing facilities in Tadipatri, Anantapur and Bukkaraya Samudram and confiscated adulterated 2T oil sachets worth Rs 60 lakh.

Raids were conducted on Sri Saibaba Enterprises in Tadipatri, SLNS in Bukkaraya Samudram, Ramesh Oil traders and Sri Sai Bhargava Lubricants in Anantapur on Friday and adulterated lubricants seized.

According to the authorities, a resident of Tadipatri Srirama Subba Reddy used to collect waste oil from various mechanic sheds and stored in Yerraguntlapalli. He mixed it with earth powder and heated it. Upon filtered the mud that settled at the bottom two or three times and repacked it as genuine 2T oil in sachets of various quantities–20 ml, 50 ml, 1,000 ml, 5,000 ml and 20 litres.

He supplied the adulterated 2T oil to customers at Hindupur, Anantapur, Cheemakurti, Madanapalle, Pattikonda and other places earned huge profits. If the oil is used in motor vehicles–the engines will get damaged. 

Others, who took part in the raid, are DSP Mahabub Basha, CIs Viswanadha Chowdary and Reddappa, SIs Ramakrishnaiah and Sankar babu, DCTO Chennaiah and Subba Reddy and Deputy Executive Engineer Ravindra Kumar.
