Freedom fighter Kandala Subrahmanya Tilak passes away

Visakhapatnam: Noted freedom fighter and member of the first Lok Sabha Kandala Subrahmanya Tilak (KS Tilak) died in the city on Friday. He was 98 and is survived by a son and two daughters.

He was born on July 15, 1920, he was a member of the first Parliament, represented from Vizianagaram Lok Sabha segment from Socialist Party from 1952 to 1957 Tilak actively participated in the Quit India movement as a student leader and went to prison. During the Independent Day celebrations in 2014, the state government had felicitated Tilak.
